We have adopted a number of temporary changes which enable us to provide funeral services with the utmost of care and dignity, whilst remaining compliant with the pandemic guidelines issued by the Scottish Government and the Federation.
In line with the most recent advice, our external speaker system is suspended with the aim of preventing large gatherings outside the Crematorium.
There has been no change to the number of attendees at funeral services, which remains at a maximum of 20. All mourners attending a service must be free of Covid symptoms. If anyone who has tested positive for Covid wishes to attend the funeral service of a loved one, we ask that the service is arranged for a date after the end of the two weeks self-isolation period.
Regrettably the carrying-in of coffins continues to be suspended in line with the Scottish Government’s requirements to maintain social distancing. Unfortunately, singing in the chapel is not permissible at the current time however many families have found comfort in spending a communal time of fellowship and personal reflection, or in listening to a piece of appropriate prose.
On a more positive note, we are launching a webcasting facility imminently and we are also moving forward with our plans to provide on-line viewing access to our Books of Remembrance. Further information will be made available in due course.
Thank you for your continued cooperation during these difficult times.
