Latest update on easing Covid restrictions 9th August 2021

Changes effective from Monday 9 August 2021
We are pleased to advise that social distancing rules will be removed from Monday 9 August 2021 enabling greater attendance numbers within our service rooms. The Old Chapel seating numbers will be increased to 150 whilst the New Chapel continues to be made available as an overspill facility should an Obitus live streaming service have been booked. The New Chapel can comfortably accommodate 50 mourners. Whilst the legal requirement for physical distancing restrictions will be removed, it is advised to keep a safe distance from other households.
As the Scottish Government has recommended the continued use of protective measures, we will require face masks to be worn indoors for the foreseeable future. Hand sanitiser will continue to be provided.
Families will be permitted to carry in coffins should they wish however all pall bearers should wear face masks and disposable gloves. The used gloves should be removed and placed in the receptacle provided and hand sanitiser reapplied prior to taking a seat. Congregational singing will also be permitted, albeit with face masks worn.
We would like to thank all service users for their kind and continued cooperation throughout these transitional and often confusing times.
